Ercol Hostess Trolley in Pevensey, East Sussex for sale

This is an advert for a genuine vintage Ercol Hostess Trolley. The colour is 'Golden Dawn' and the materials are solid Elm tiers and solid Beech supports. It runs on 'Shepherd' style castors which are smooth and stable. We purchased this piece about 9 years ago and are only the second owners since new. We bought it from an Ercol employee in Princes Risborough, Buckinghamshire (location of the Ercol factory) who was retiring. As a retirement gift, Ercol gave him a whole brand new suit which meant he had to sell his old suit, which this trolley was part of. Reluctantly it is time to sell this piece as it does not fit well into our small living room since we bought new furniture. This trolley is a very versatile, strong and stable piece of furniture which can be used as a trolley, or can be used as a static display table or stand for heavy items such as televisions. It is also of extremely high quality in both the wood used and the joints used. This makes it exceptionally robust and long lasting. Overall this trolley is in very good condition with no damage and it still retains its rich golden colour and the beautiful grain of the woods. The castors also run nice and smoothly. However, this trolley is over 40 years old and does have the odd minor scuff and mark on the edges, the supports and the top tier. Also, the Ercol 'Made in England' sticker is missing and has been since we bought it. We have looked after this piece well over the years, along with our other Ercol pieces, and expect it to last many decades into the future with its new owner.
